Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC

THE EXPERIENCE

Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC, a global asset management firm, set out to redefine the modern workplace with the development of its new headquarters. Occupying five floors of the Goldman Sachs Tower in Jersey City, the 178,000-square-foot LEED Platinum-certified space was designed to support a full return to in-office work with flexible, technology-rich environments that encourage seamless collaboration, content creation and high-performance communication.

From the start, the AV design team, led by Presentation Products Inc. (PPI) and consultants Technology Architecture Design (TAD), was tasked with solving several complex challenges. The firm required a unified user experience across more than 100 Zoom-enabled rooms, including high-profile executive spaces. At the same time, they needed to develop a large-format presentation space that could operate as both a broadcast studio and an event venue, while still aligning with strict sustainability, acoustic and aesthetic requirements.

Sustainability informed every decision, from material selections to the choice of low-power AV equipment. These considerations played a key role in achieving the project’s LEED Platinum certification and guided the technology strategy throughout the integration process.

Delivering exceptional visual clarity, quiet operation and low power consumption without compromising the architectural vision was essential. This led the team to select SiliconCore’s fine pixel pitch LED displays as the visual foundation of the project.

BEHIND THE SCENES

At the core of Lord Abbett’s broadcast and presentation capabilities are dual 137-inch SiliconCore 1.2mm LED displays, installed in the auditorium and boardroom. These displays addressed key challenges around energy performance, heat output, and acoustic control, helping the team meet both their functional and environmental objectives.

Powered by SiliconCore’s patented Common Cathode technology, the displays regulate voltage at the individual pixel level, significantly reducing heat output and enabling fanless operation. This ensures silent performance and minimal reliance on active cooling, which supported the project’s low-carbon design requirements and contributed to the overall LEED Platinum certification. The displays consume up to 40 percent less power than conventional LED solutions, offering a long operational lifespan while keeping energy use low.

The 1.2mm pixel pitch delivers outstanding resolution and clarity, ideal for large-scale content, presentations and hybrid events where visual precision is critical. Whether deployed in high-profile executive settings or dynamic public-facing venues, SiliconCore’s displays provided consistent image performance with minimal maintenance demands.

In the boardroom, SiliconCore LED displays are part of a broader AV ecosystem designed for meeting equity. Custom-engineered algorithms control camera switching based on real-time audio pickup, and Panasonic broadcast cameras deliver a premium viewing experience for remote participants. The system supports effortless engagement across both physical and virtual attendees.

Across the headquarters, over 100 Zoom Rooms were integrated with a standardized interface, allowing users at every level of the organization to interact confidently with the technology. From the CEO suite to open collaboration zones, the experience remains seamless and intuitive.

Architectural integration was a priority throughout the space. Wall-mounted speakers are concealed behind acoustically transparent fabric, and control systems are discreetly embedded in custom furnishings, maintaining the architectural language of the workplace while maximizing functionality.

The AV system is monitored and maintained through PPI’s Vantage platform, which delivers real-time diagnostics, health monitoring and proactive maintenance for more than 1,000 connected devices. This infrastructure ensures performance reliability and long-term operational resilience.

By combining SiliconCore’s low-power LED technology with architectural sensitivity and enterprise-grade infrastructure, Lord Abbett’s headquarters delivers on every front. It is a space where sustainability, design and technology converge to support the evolving needs of a high-performance workplace.
